Buildings that need renovation are the ones that are in need of some kind of renovation, especially if you are looking for something that will help the environment.
To help you determine which buildings need to be renovated, CBC News visited Gables Station, Garden Station and a new building being built on Gables Boulevard in North Vancouver, which is being converted into an arts and entertainment district.
In the process of renovating, the City of Vancouver is adding some more space for the Arts and Entertainment District.
The Arts and Exhibitions District was founded in 2012 to showcase the talents of Vancouver’s arts community, including the arts, film, and music, to showcase Vancouver’s vibrant and diverse community.
Currently, there are about 2,000 residents who are members of the Arts & Exhibits District.
“The Arts and Arts District is a great place to get involved in the local community,” said Mark Giesbrecht, the chief executive officer of the City.
“It’s a great venue for a community gathering, a great location for a public event, and for the community to interact.
The arts district is just the right location to be an active part of that.”
Giesbigt said the area needs more space to support more people, including for arts programming and events.
“It’s one of the busiest areas of downtown Vancouver, and we want to make sure we are able to accommodate the needs of the community,” he said.
Giesbretts department is making sure the area is protected, but Giesbehts office said it’s not going to be a big change for people who work in the area.
“We are doing our best to ensure that the area stays safe and protected, and that we do not need any changes to the way people are going about their daily lives,” he told CBC News.
“There is a new art space on the block, and I don’t know that the artists are upset that there is a different space.
They have a choice of where they are going to hang their art, and it’s something they are very happy about.”
Gates of the art and entertainment districts The Arts & Exhibition District is not the only area that has a new space for art.
Other areas that need new art include: the Gables Street Arts District, located between the Victoria Station and the North Shore Mall; the Downtown Arts District; the Gages Street Arts Area, which extends from the corner of Victoria Street and Gages Avenue to North Vancouver Street; and the Gage Street Arts Centre, located in the South Shore neighborhood.
“We are hoping to see a lot of new activity around Gages, so we hope to have an art and culture space in that space, and hopefully a lot more of that in the next year or so,” said Giesbets department.
Gives you more options in the community When it comes to making changes to your neighbourhood, there is more to consider.
“The area has a lot going on, and you don’t want to just look at what’s happening in one area and say that it’s okay,” said Michael Hagen, the owner of The Locksmith Shop in the Arts District.
“You want to look at the entire community.”
Hagen said the Locksmart shop is the place where people can come to hang out, have a drink, talk about the arts and music and see other people.
“I think it’s a good space for everyone in the neighbourhood,” he added.
“Because it’s part of the neighbourhood, it’s very inviting.”
Hansen said the neighbourhood needs more people in the arts community.
“A lot of people who are interested in the art or the arts would be surprised by what we have here, and the amount of art that’s on display,” he explained.
Hagen is working with the city to see if there are any changes that could be made to the area’s layout to make it more attractive to visitors.
“For me, this is a really important piece of the city’s portfolio, because it’s where we draw the biggest audience for arts events, and they have a lot to do with the people that come to these events,” he admitted.
“So, I’m really interested in seeing how much space we can bring in and how that can be integrated with the rest of the arts in the city.”
Hagsbret’s department is working on a plan to find more ways to connect the area to other neighbourhoods.
For example, they plan to have a space for live music, where people could meet other people and have a conversation, but the space would have a walled off area where there would be art.
The art could also be more welcoming, said Griesbrecht.
“People want to go out to the park, and when they come out, they want to sit and have conversation, and talk about things that are happening, and what’s going on in the world,” he stressed
