The Atlanta-based company behind Atlanta’s new station building said Monday that the building, a six-story tower that opened on Sunday, will house a news and sports media production center and a conference center.
The building, which will be the tallest of its kind in the country, also will include a cafe and an indoor theater.
The news and media building, with its four stories, will be an extension of Atlanta’s current station building.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that the news and entertainment complex will include space for up to 60 people, including a 24-foot-wide (9.5-meter) projection screen, a two-story conference room and a banquet hall.
The building is being built at a cost of $25 million.
The AJC says the newsroom will be staffed by an executive director, editor and reporter, and will feature a new newsroom layout.
The new building also will have a newsroom conference room, a conference room with a two stories and a news booth.
The Georgia Department of Economic Development says the building will be used for “large-scale projects that will involve large crowds and require a large number of employees.”
