(AP) There are nearly as many stations in Pittsburgh as there are people in the city.
That’s because Pittsburgh is home to a thriving entertainment and tech industry, a thriving city with an abundant population and an economic climate that is highly competitive with most cities in the country.
The city of more than 7 million people has a population of more the same as New York City and has a metro area of roughly 11.7 million people.
But unlike the big cities of the country, Pittsburgh is far less crowded than most.
It’s not that people are getting busier.
The city’s population has been steadily declining since its peak in 2000.
Pittsburgh has about one-quarter as many people as New Jersey.
And it has fewer people per square mile as New Orleans, Baltimore, Denver and Los Angeles, according to the Census Bureau.
Yet the growth has been uneven, and not because of the population, according a report from the nonprofit Public Policy Institute of California, which has been tracking Pittsburgh’s economy for more than 20 years.
Instead, it’s the result of a boom in downtown, a rapid influx of tourists and a booming economy that’s fueled by more residents using public transit and public schools.
The population boom is fueled by the city’s strong reputation as an entertainment hub and as a tech-savvy metropolis.
The tech industry employs more than 1.6 million people, a fraction of the overall population of about 10 million.
The jobs include computer programming, data management, software development and software sales.
But most of those jobs pay more than $100,000 a year.
The highest-paying jobs include tech-related jobs, including software developers, developers of software systems and computer-based systems support.
The economy has been fueled by new developments in technology and new business opportunities, such as the rise of Airbnb and Uber.
But Pittsburgh has also seen a steady decline in the number of residents who work in those industries, according the report.
In 2017, the city was home to just 6,200 people who worked in the tech industry.
That number declined by nearly 2,000 in 2020, when the industry was still growing.
In 2021, the population of the city of Pittsburgh was about 5,500 people.
